Dear Mum
Writing to you as a man today, to tell you the things I couldn’t as a child.
Dear Mum,
I love you
I loved you as the word hate left my lips,
I loved you when fear and hurt let slip,
Loved you since you balanced me upon your hips,
Loved your smile and your quips despite hardships.
Being your first there weren’t any scripts,
No tricks and tips to get to grips,
Everyday bearing apprenticeships.
From the size of fruit pips, to when our heights eclipsed,
Loving me in partnership, not dictatorship,
Setting precedents for leadership and relationships.
I love you,
And I pray I grow to show your workmanship.
Happy Mothers Day
A little tribute to mothers everywhere.
