A PRAYER FOR MY SOUL

Smile. Be happy.
Wish you can see within me.
I’m drowning in questions
I pray for God to attend my soul.
The world and its blitz
Seek my attention,
They call my name
And I wish to answer,
But deep down, a void widens,
Loneliness. Sadness. Pain
One only God can fill
Hence, I pray God my soul to answer
Call forth my heart from the abyss of vanity,
Lest I drown myself in worldly pleasures
Reach out and pull me from indulgence
Let me seek first Your Kingdom.
For I smile
Yes, I laugh,
But sometimes, a smile can be a tear
And a laugh can be saddened
But with the Lord by my side,
I shall overcome…
