MERRY NEWS

The heart wants merry news,
But sometimes, merry news weary the soul
And weighs heavy, the mind
For it can be overwhelming
Especially, when it happens not to you.
For indeed it is commanded us to love,
And some… maybe most of us do love,
But there lies within selfishness,
And riding on wishful thinking
And putting ourselves on the spotlight
The nucleus of our own little world
For we want all good to happen to us,
But sometimes, the spotlight,
Rather than shine on our paths, blinds us –
Rejoice, rejoice with others
For life is like a wheel,
It turns and turns and turns,
Your turn will surely come
But whilst it tarries,
Rejoice, rejoice with and for others
And in due time, your merry news shall come
