Since COVID-19, the standard of Hospitality has dwindled a bit and has reduced the standard to below par in most cases. With the increase in bare-minimum syndrome, many Hospitality companies – especially Hotels have been falling short in their world-renowned services.

Before the outbreak of bed bugs travelling across France and England, it was common news in certain Hotels. With the level of cleanliness falling short after COVID-19, there has been an increase in the “bed-bug gift” that many Hotels love to give to their visitors.
The issue could fall on so many places. It could be the quality of cleaners, the demands in the rooms they have to clean, poor quality of products, lack of knowledge in how to deal with bed bugs or just general negligence to the nightmare of every hotel visitor.
I for one have become very wary of visiting Hotels due to the lack of general cleanliness. It makes me feel itchy just thinking about it.
Maybe if the general well-being of customers could be placed above profit, trust could be built and cliques could be broken. Safety is important for anyone’s stay and reducing the chance of visitors scheduling a GP appointment over bedbugs would be highly appreciated.
Despite this being said, there are excellent companies and Hotels who are champions when it comes to cleanliness and providing a great sense of security and safety to their visitors. My concern is that the numbers are reducing each year leaving visitors vulnerable to the majority.
