I see the facade you keep

Coming across as strong

I see your stern demeanor

Intimidating those who care truly

I see your constant expression of strength

Depicting you’ve got everything figured out

But I know

I mean you know too

That things aren’t as they look

That you are weary and need rest

That you need a shoulder as much

As you’re willing to give yours

That you would love to smile as much

But are pressed down by life’s expectations

The other day I heard the Lord say

All you who labour and are heavy laden

Should come

And He will give you rest

I know we learned that

It’s in working that we progress

But for Him

Progress is made when we rest in Him
