In a dry and arid land

Where the sight of water is a mirage

And the scent is only a dream

God sends us not only a sight

But streams to satisfy our thirst

And a miracle to amplify our faith

For what relationship has awakening

Got to do with the desert?

Or water to the soul?

But God who does all things well

Knows us enough to

See our heart’s greatest needs

Satisfying our soul’s very thirst

And bringing us refreshing where we are

That through the toughest seasons of our lives

We may have our driest thirst filled

By the One who knows us better
