Many times, when we talk about togetherness,
our minds go straight to marriage, the community of saints, or unity within our families.

We not only love the idea of being one with those we should be one with,
but we also make conscious efforts to work towards it.
We cherish peace and tranquility in our homes and relationships.
We delight in working together for a common goal.

When disagreements cause a rift,
we hurt and wish we had done things differently.

Yet, there is a form of togetherness that is often neglected—
one that goes mostly unnoticed:
the togetherness between us and the Father.

This is the union that should matter most in our journey as believers.
It is the one that sets the course for all our earthly relationships.
A rift in this relationship is far too costly a debt to incur.

We can go to great lengths to fix our earthly relationships,
yet we rarely pause to notice when things go sour between us and the Lord.

Don’t you know it is God who makes all relationships thrive?

Today, remind yourself that together is better
especially when it’s together with the Lord.
