Why does man’s soul rage?
Like a wild beast in a cage.
We seek to want to be right,
In much; even at slight.
But why does man’s soul rage?
From the rebuke of a sage,
To the act of a fool;
At such and more, we lose our cool
Even without these, man’s soul do rage
For at our own folly, we sometimes cringe
And at others’ vexation, tempers flare
That may leave us and others scared.
Therefore O man, before your soul rage,
Weigh your response first on a gauge
For it is fitting to take charge of your temper,
Than having a city conquered.
