Please help me Lord, for I hunger
But before me lies not the prepared table;
I see stones before me and I wonder,
Is it okay if I turn these to bread?
‘Tis just to satisfy this craving
For I know not how long I can hold on
I stagger as I walk
Let not my foot cast against a stone,
Please send me angels to attend me
I pray You to satisfy me by Your Word
For Your Word is bread,
And Your Spirit is life;
So help me not to see these stones as bread
Lest I make it my daily bread,
And eat gravel when they are finished…
