‘Tis indeed a journey,
To go out and come back each day
Many seem to be weary
And can’t seem to find their way
Their hearts know no merry,
As they hurt day by day,
I see faces in the morning,
Looking dull and pale,
I see frowns in the evening
From smiles gone stale
I wish I could help them with meaning,
With a poem, song or tale
But they come back at night,
From their tiresome sojourn.
For some labour by their might,
And some, trust The Divine
But all men just want a good night
To get strength for the dawn…
