The race is not to the swift
Nor is the battle to the strong
Time and chance happens to them all
We read

Rather than a call to depend on God ultimately
And not our skills or abilities
We understand it to mean do nothing
The Lord decides how things turn out after all

It seems like there’s an unheard conversation
That calls on us to be lazy
To watch others become
At such a great cost
That we need not pay

But listen dear one
And make no mistakes too
Just like others
You also carry the Lord’s blessings
So sharpen your skills
But depend on the Lord too
