Do you hear the music –
When the birds sing?
When the leaves wave?
As the breeze combs through the grass;
Like a gentle strum on a guitar.
Do you hear the music –
In a new born baby’s cry?
In a toddler’s first word?
In the old man’s tale?
Drawing us to the melodies of history
Do you hear the music –
In a spouse’s smile?
In an admirer’s poem?
In a lover’s word?
That is heard from a thousand miles

Do you hear the music –
The heart exudes in solitude?
The mind brings when at rest?
The soul hums when alone?
The ballad for the lonely one.
Do you hear the music –
From the angelic harps?
From God’s still voice?
From Christ’s cry on the cross?
Such sweet a sound no one can fathom…
