When in death, we shut our eyes
And leave this world with its woes,
I pray our souls don’t go to Hades
So we can see God and rejoice.
When the shroud of death covers us,
And we depart from this cold, cold world;
I hope we awake to His warm embrace
And with glee, gaze upon His face.

When it’s all been said and done,
And in one last breath, we are gone
I pray we are found in God’s arms;
And for eternity, lift up our voices in praise.
As we live our lives here,
Let it shine and glare-
I pray it beams upon one’s path
Before we shut our eyes in death
