Naturally, pride can get in the way of seeing the paths we walk clearly and cause us to stumble in ways we could’ve easily avoided. At times we may even struggle to seek advice from people who love us dearly and evidently choose to go at life alone. Alternatively, you may be in a situation where you take the advice of harmful or toxic individuals who derail you from your morals rather than help you uphold them.

In the end, the advice I have for us as leaders is to search for advice from those who have experience in areas we are novices in or when things are not clear and check and see if it aligns with the standard to which you should live. We only become better when we learn to listen, and in listening, we must understand what we put our ear to, never be a passive listener rather be one who can filter out noise.
